Hosts Kelsi Wilmot and Tyler Townsend welcome Britny Cranford, President of the Center Point Alliance for Progress (CPAP), to Beyond the Label to bring more community voices to the Label and share ways to get involved via text, email, Facebook, and YouTube.
Britny describes growing up in Center Point, joining the nonprofit to help her mother, and the community’s tight-knit response alongside the Center Point Fire Department during the 2025 flood. She explains how the nonprofit funneled donor funds directly to residents, providing up to $8,000 per primary household and later covering needs like fences and appliances, then responding again after a less severe 2026 flood that still re-damaged newly repaired homes and impacted Comfort. The group also runs an annual Christmas program serving about 96 children, offers limited emergency assistance for fires and urgent needs, plans a website, and discusses upcoming community events and a goal of sourcing 300 turkeys for Rock Springs.
