Hill Country Podcast – Chris Stevenson on a University for Rural Hill Country Students

Welcome to award-winning The Hill Country Podcast. The Texas Hill Country is one of the most beautiful places on earth. In this podcast, Hill Country resident Tom Fox visits with the people and organizations that make this the most unique areas of Texas. Join Tom as he explores the people, places and their activities of the Texas Hill Country.  In this episode Tom visits with Chris Stevenson, at Educational Partnership Coordinator at Schreiner University.

Beginning with the captivating detail that Schreiner University is working to reconnect with high schools and private schools in the area to help serve those communities, this podcast episode discussed the opportunities that Schreiner University provides for students in rural communities. Chris Stevenson, a Hill Country boy born and raised, is passionate about helping families and students learn more about the university and has been hosting many schools in the past year. He is willing to meet with families and students one-on-one to discuss what Schreiner has to offer.

Schreiner has started new initiatives such as the AG science program and banking program to focus on rural schools and communities, and has partnered with banks in Kerrville, Bandera and other Hill Country communities to develop a banking minor program and certification program. Additionally, FFA Development Day was held in Schreiner to promote the idea of surrounding university and the program of Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences. Schreiner has created a partnership with the Texas Rural Schools Association called the TARS Association, and Schreiner is looking to meet the needs of the students and the community by developing new programs such as football, AG programs, and banking programs.

Great Women in Compliance – GWICies and Thank You Mary

Welcome to the Great Women in Compliance Podcast, hosted by Mary Shirley and Lisa Fine.

It all started with a casual conversation between friends in October 2018 at an evening event in Las Vegas, and shortly thereafter, the Great Women in Compliance podcast was born, the first podcast on the Compliance Podcast Network that was not hosted by Tom Fox. For the last 4.5 years, Lisa Fine and Mary Shirley have worked on developing the podcast to best bring listeners quality content and this week, they reach their 200th episode. At this juncture, Mary passes the baton to Lloydette Bai-Marrow, who will be joining Lisa Fine as the newest #GWIC co-host. Join them after a summer break to tune in to the new iteration of the podcast.

In the meantime, this episode features mini interviews between Lisa and Mary, as well another round of the GWICies – the recognition (sometimes tongue in cheek) that Lisa and Mary have given during certain milestones since their 100th episode.

As she puts down the microphone, Mary extends gratitude to all of the listeners and guests who made the podcast what it is today. She also voices her huge appreciation for Lisa and the fruitful partnership over the last several years and looks forward to what is to come for the podcast, as the number one cheerleader for GWIC 2.0

One Month to More Effective Reporting and Investigations – Introduction

The call, email, or tip comes into your office; an employee reports suspicious activity somewhere across the globe. That activity might well turn into an FCPA issue for your company. As the CCO, it will be up to you to begin the process which will determine, in many instances, how the company will respond. This chapter will provide you with the steps you will need to consider going forward.
This chapter will detail the two parts; internal reporting and investigations. It would seem axiomatic that organizations understand the benefits of having an internal reporting system, whether it is called a hotline, helpline, or something else. Just as plainly, a company should understand the need for effective investigations after a report comes in which might lead to a potential violation.
