Innovation can come in various forms for an organization. Innovation can appear in a structural form. You can move compliance more deeply into your organization with new or different structures. One I have seen have success is a Compliance Committee more closely tied to the geographic market in the field or the Regional Compliance Committee. All of this works to adds a dimension not often seen or even discussed in the compliance profession. The accountability and oversight down to the regional level and the compliance monitoring, reviewing, assessing and recommending that is deemed to be necessary will provide additional endorsements up through the organization that it is actually doing compliance. In compliance, it is execution where the rubber meets the road. A Regional Compliance Committee can provide your compliance program a unique structure to perform these functions.

Episode 8, Broken Pieces. A flashback shows Narissa’s initiation into the Zhat Vash on a planet with eight suns: she experiences the Admonition, a warning of the danger of synthetic life left behind by a long-extinct race. Most are driven mad by the knowledge, but Narissa retains her sanity.
Meeting Soji stirs up painful memories in Rios: he eventually tells Raffi that Soji resembles one of two beings whom Rios’s former commanding offer, Captain Vandermeer, was ordered to execute by Starfleet Security; Vandermeer committed suicide and Rios was forced to cover up the event. Raffi realizes that the two were synthetics from Bruce Maddox’s planet. Jurati awakens and admits that she murdered Maddox, explaining the vision Oh gave her; she promises never to harm Soji. Raffi explains her deduction that the Zhat Vash were behind the synth attack on Mars. Soji plots a course for her home planet; La Sirena is followed by Narek’s ship. On the Artifact, Seven arrives to rescue Elnor; she interfaces with the Queen’s cell to use the Borg drones aboard the cube to try to retake control, but Narissa has most of the drones jettisoned into space and sends a fleet to Soji’s planet.

Leslie Benton is the Vice President of Ethisphere Institute. She chats with Vince Walden about how her company helps businesses with anti-corruption, assessments and benchmarking. Leslie shares her background in the field of anti-corruption, and how she became Vice President of Ethisphere. She mentions that she has gained perspectives from both the private sector and NGOs.
Ethisphere has created a methodology platform for companies to internally assess their programs, which they can take to score the maturity of their programs in various areas such as corruption and cyber security. Ethisphere encourages companies to take a deep dive into their own programs with the platform’s assessment tools, which allow them to address and identify areas of high and low performance. The maturity scoring provides metrics that can be tracked over time as they improve, and are used as benchmark data. The platform also has other tools and resources that help companies ensure their programs are in a cycle of continual improvement. Leslie advises companies to regularly monitor their third parties, as their involvement brings numerous risks.
